New Messaging App AlloTexting has taken a completely different angle and now people have started to text by different means. There was a time when people used to send Short Message Service (SMS) to their near and dear ones. It was completely different when people to text to their friends to the SMS, but there are many apps available for us to send and receive text messages.
There are hundreds of applications available on the Play Store and App Store. Though these apps and being used by many different people, there is one such app which is been used predominantly by the users. WhatsApp is considered to be one of the best messenger apps when compared to others. It has many features and it is really interesting and fun to use the app and stay connected with people across the world.
The network providers are not glad about the fact that the Over-The-To (OTT) messaging apps have replaced the normal text messaging. They are unable to get a hold of the normal text messaging as people have switched to the new age technology of texting. Just an internet connection is enough for the users to be able to use the different messaging apps.
These apps have helped millions of people across the world that is using these apps on a regular basis. Time has changed a lot of things around us and we can see that these tech companies are gaining huge popularity amongst the people. At present we can say that Google has taken a step towards the text messaging and the technology which they are going to implement is different.
Last year, the Internet-related service providing organization proclaimed that they have made deal with the GSMA and all the mobile network providers around the world. They wanted to establish Rich communication Service (RCS) which would be an application on all the Android devices across all the different networks.

It is a communication protocol, where they are attempting to replace the old fashioned text messaging with the help of advanced technologies. The protocol is used to keep the mobile telephone carriers and the phone to stay connected. There are set of different specifications which are available under this particular service. It recently released on of the version with explicit features in it, where we will be to find out the details of the device with the capability discovery. It will integrate into the system and operate the chats, multimedia, location sharing and live to sketch as well.
Texting at the beginning
When people were introduced to text messaging, all they needed was a mobile phone, contact number of the respective person, and enough credit balance in the account of the mobile network provider to be able to send a message. People used to send and receive the messages seamlessly and it was really good going, as people were able to have conversations even if they were in distant places. But, things have changed over a period of time and we can say sending SMS has become days of past.
In the era of Smartphones and Applications
Now, it is the era where most of them do own a smartphone and they are filled with many different kinds of applications. It is obvious that most of the people do have the WhatsApp messenger app in their devices. As it is considered to be most used apps and by default whoever has a smartphone would end up having this messenger app.
In the past, there was no requirement, where both the parties need to have an account in the app to be able to send and receive messages. Currently, it is essential that only if both the users possess an account they will be able to send and receive messages. This might seem like a drawback, but it is not about messages, there are many features which we do not find in the normal text messaging.
Over-The-Top (OTT) Messaging Apps
Users have to download and install the app and then create an account in the particular app to be able to use the app. They need to perform all this just to be able to stay connected with their friends. If we look at it with a different perception then we will be able to see that, the people are able to stay connected and share a lot of things through multimedia.
It is a fact that we need to have the apps on our devices to be able to stay connected with our friends. Technology has in fact helped in many ways to be able to improvise the ways in which we have the conversations. WhatsApp was once just a mere messaging app, where can send and receive messages with the help of the internet connection. But, now we can do almost of everything in this app, right from texting, sharing multimedia to making video calls, it has come a long way.
Allo from Google
Google has launched a new messaging app called as Allo at the I/O conference and it is said that it will work similar to that of WhatsApp; it will not work with any unique identity. The app would work based on the phone number provided by the user, similar to WhatsApp. We might say that it has cloned this concept and have executed it.
It is said that the interface which the app has will make the conversations to be more expressive kind. They state that we will be able to have conversations with anyone from our contact list. The features which this particular app will get us keep going and to have smooth and hassle free conversations. It will be an aid to get our tasks done efficiently as well and in fact, this is just the beginning for the app.
It is true that this app will have a different kind of functioning when compared to the existing OTT messaging which are available in the store. Apart from that, there is Google Assistant integrated into the app, so we will be able to use it in the app itself. There is incognito window where all the messages do have the security of end-end encryption.
Will Allo win over WhatsApp?
WhatsApp has already reached the peak and there are around a billion active users on it. Apart from that, there is WeChat and iMessage as well which has a large user database. Now the thing is that, will Allo be able to bring in a larger user database surpassing the existing users for its competitors. The app does hold explicit features and there is Smart Reply feature which will enable us to reply automatically.
The entire features which are enlisted sounds to be appealing and extravagant as well, but there are apps which do possess all the features already. Google has taken this initiative to be able to give a competition to the messenger behemoth WhatsApp. Are there possibilities of people thinking to try this new app and enjoy it? This is a question which is yet to be answered; it is true that people already have different messaging apps to stay connected with their friends. Will Allo really win over WhatsApp, let’s wait and see.
