Universal’s R-rated film will do it again, come what may. It’s all about taking a risk, displaying what you feel, calling others to action and…? That’s what the Purge series have illustrated. This year’s purge installment comes with a synopsis; there is no beating around the bush. In an attempt to cut the nation’s crime rate by 1%, the New Founding Fathers of America (NFFA) consider an experiment on an isolated community. The sociological theory test is intended to indicate the aggression level of occupants in a single night. Unfortunately, two sides collide and the contagion is made to spread from the isolated community across the nation.

As per the trailer, the horror film displays a havoc that can’t be tamed. Violence, murder, and destruction fill the country and it is all illustrated by the film’s director- Gerard McMurrayJames DeMonaco worked on the script and also joins Jason Blum, Michael Bay, Brad Fuller, Andrew Form, and Sebastien Lemercier to produce the film.

It is filled with intense moments, illegal activities, and all sorts of hilarious behaviours. On a good note, the Purge franchise brings us Marisa Tomei, who is expected to take up a detective role. She wears a candid face, which surely leaves no room for speculations. She is joined by Lex Scott Davis, Y’Lan Noel, Luna Lauren Velez, Joivan Wade, Steve Harris and Patch Darragh.

Taking the clock back, The Purge franchise first hit the cinemas with “The Purge (2013)”. The franchise is based on a future dystopian America. Although it may seem crazy and insane, it is generally a period where crime is legalized during a 12-hour period in the USA. The series initially received mixed reviews, but that has not prohibited fans from falling for the film each year it is released.

The first installment grossed a total of $89.3 million against a budget of $3 million. James DeMonaco worked on the script and as well directed the film. The film basically starred Ethan Hawke, Lena Headey, Adelaide Kane, and Max Burkholder.

The following Purge full movie installment is known as “The Purge: Anarchy” and hit the cinemas in 2014. The film was directed and written by James DeMonaco. It starred Zoë Soul, Frank Grillo, Carmen Ejogo, Kiele Sanchez, Zach Gilford, and Michael K. Williams. It grossed $111.9 million against a budget of $11 million. The Purge: Election Year followed and premiered in 2016. James still directed and worked on the script. It grossed a total of $118.6 million against a budget of $11 million. Lastly, “The First Purge” will hit the cinemas on July 4, 2018.
